The 2011 Scion tC Receives a Top Overall Rating for Crash and Rollover Safety

The New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), an information program established by NHTSA, evaluates vehicles to determine crash and rollover safety. The test ratings are collected during controlled crash and rollover tests performed at the NHTSA research facilities.

The 2011 Scion tC was able to surpass every safety requirement defined by the federal government and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, confirming Scion commitment to set the industry standard on safety matters.

Scion engineers equipped the 2011 tC with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) front passenger knee airbag, bringing the total number of airbags to eight; additional SRS airbags, including driver and front passenger airbags; driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags; driver knee airbag; and side curtain airbags.

Additional safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system, a newly adopted active front headrest, Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRAC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) and a Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system.
